When can I start my driving licence?
You can sign up and study theory beforehand. You can take the theory test three months before your 18th birthday at the earliest, and the practical test one month before at the earliest – with accompanied driving (BF17), before your 17th birthday.
What do I need for the application?
An eye test, a first aid course certificate, a biometric passport photo and your ID. You apply at the driving licence office where you live. If you need help with it, just ask.
Can I take the theory test in my language?
For class B, the theory test is available not only in German but also in English, French, Greek, Modern Standard Arabic, Italian, Croatian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish and Turkish.
How much does the licence cost in total?
That depends mainly on how many lessons you need. On top of the driving school's prices come the fees of TÜV SÜD and the driving licence office. Feel free to ask what to expect.
